2024 Recital information

There will be a flat $85 per costume, per class fee. The costume fee is due when you commit to participating in the recital or no later than February 15th. Costumes will go home with the dancers at the beginning of June. Photos of the costumes will be sent via email. Matching shoes and tights are required and you can find the required list below. If you need to purchase shoes or tights, this will be separate from the costume fee.

If your dancer already has the appropriate shoes and tights and they are in good condition, there is no need to purchase new ones. If your dancer needs new shoes, you are able to order them through the studio website at a discounted rate. We have sample shoe sizes available in the office for you to try on, and then you order them through our website. It’s convenient and inexpensive!

Express Start: Pink Ballet Shoes and Pink Tights
Jazz: Tan Jazz Shoes & Tan Tights
Tap: Black Lace-up Tap Shoes & Tan Tights
Lyrical: Tan Jazz Shoes & Tan Tights
Ballet: Pink Ballet Slippers and Pink Tights
Hip Hop: Black Gym Shoes or Black Jazz Shoes
Breaking: Black gym shoes

All dancers, both company and recreational, will be required to purchase a $20 recital t-shirt. They will be wearing these at the end of the show for bows. The studio and
the “Fun in the Sun” logo will be on the front and the back will have EVERY dancer’s name on it! Dancers will wear these at the recital during final bows, and they are great keepsakes to remember the show. The recital t-shirt fee is due when the costume fee is paid.

All of the dancers* will have the same hairstyle. We will be parting the hair down the middle and keeping it in a low bun at the small of the neck. The staff will be going over the hair in all of the classes when it is closer to recital time. We will also send an instructional video.

*Express Start classes may have any hairstyle they choose as long as it is pulled off of the dancer’s face.

• You will need:
• Hairspray or gel
• Comb and brush
• Hair ties
• Hair donut (not required but can make it easier to do hair)
• Hair net and bobby pins

All of the dancers will need to wear make-up to prevent their face from appearing washed out on stage. Base foundation, eye shadow (browns, purples, blue, darker colors), eyeliner to outline the top line, blush and lipstick will be required. Express Start dancers will simply need blush, lip gloss and mascara if so desired.

Recital tickets will go on sale Monday, May 13 at 10:00 AM. Tickets will be $18 apiece. We are happy to offer RESERVED seating for all of our shows and ONLINE TICKET SALES! More information will be coming regarding ticket sales.

Video taping and photography are strictly prohibited during the recital. All shows will be professionally recorded, and a digital copy will be available for purchase.
Additionally, professional pictures will be taken at the dress rehearsal. Ordering information will be available in May.

Dress rehearsal will take place on Friday, June 21 at the Hinsdale South Auditorium. A detailed schedule will come out for the dress rehearsal. You will need to arrive 30 minutes before your
dancer’s scheduled picture/rehearsal time, and you may leave once they are finished. Costumes will go home prior to the dress rehearsal so dancers can arrive to rehearsal in costume.
