Dancers of All Abilities gives children and adults with special needs the opportunity to dance and express themselves through movement. Students will learn the basics of ballet, jazz and hip hop. Every class begins with a fun, energetic warm up, followed by across the floor movement. Class finishes with a short dance routine.

Dancers should wear comfortable dance apparel, t-shirts, sweatpants, shorts, etc. Black or tan jazz shoes are required.

At Expression Dance Studio we also offer special classroom assistance for our younger dancers who may need extra help in the recreational classes. If your dancer needs assistance in the classroom we can provide classroom assistants for any of our scheduled classes. If your dancer is under age 8 and is interested in a class, please contact us at info@expressiondancestudio.com or 630-968-5678 so we can recommend the appropriate class.

Young Athletes:

Come and be a part of this exciting new program through Special Olympics Illinois at Expression Dance Studio!

The Young Athletes program is an innovative sports play program for children ages 2-6 with and without intellectual disabilities, designed to introduce them into the world of sports. This program will prove enormously beneficial on multiple levels for your child including helping the children improve physically, cognitively and socially.  Dancers will be working on these skills in our Express Start classes.

This program is designed to address two specific levels of play.

  • Level 1 includes physical activates focused developing fundamental motor tracking and eye-hand coordination.
  • Level 2 concentrates on the application of these activities through a sports skills activity program and developing skills consistent with Special Olympics sports play.

The activities will consist of foundational skills, walking & running, balance & jumping, trapping & catching, throwing, striking, kicking and advanced skills.

We are very excited about this program and your family’s participation! A separate Special Olympics registration form will be need to be completed.

There will be various opportunities to compete such as our culminating events here at the studio or showing off a skill at Summer State Special Olympic games! Please contact us at info@expressiondancestudio.com for more information!
