Kiya

Kiya is 12 years old and has been dancing for 8 years so far. Her first dance teacher was Miss Mickey. Kiya loves to dance because of the wonderful feeling that dance gives her. She also loves making new friends. Her strengths include learning dances quickly, taking corrections and jumps. Kiya loves tap because she likes the rhythm, jazz because she loves to do turns and leaps and lyrical because she loves the style and improving. Her other hobbies besides dance are reading and writing. Kiya is most excited about her trio performing at events such as the Brookfield lights show, the anniversary for Foundations and Breakthrough and she also is excited for the company sleepover. She did Breakthrough last year where the company dancers make up their own dances. The song they picked was 2013 mash up. Her favorite color is orange and one weird thing about her is that she can’t flex her hands all the way. Kiya would love to be a forensic scientist or intelligence analyst when she grows up. She would like to thank Miss Amber, her sister for inspiring her to dance her mom and dad for support and her dance teachers for believing in her to push herself to the limit.
