Biography of Cynthia Zaeske
Cynthia is a native of Chicago and gained her dance training in the city as well. She studied ballet at Ruth Page Foundation with Larry Long, Orin Kayan and Patty Kleckovich, and at Ellis DuBoulay with Richard Ellis and Christine DuBoulay both formerly of the Royal Ballet. Her foundation of dance began with Louise Engstrom of the Ballet Russe. She carried her classical training to more contemporary dance to study with Lou Conte and Joel Hall. Cynthia earned scholarships at Interlochen School of the Arts and New School North/Home of Joel Hall Dancers.
Cynthia’s true love is teaching the art to aspiring dancers. She has been on the faculty of well respected studios such as, Gotta Dance, DanceWest Ballet, Moves, Fox Ballet (Underground Arts Connection) and Dream Contemporary Dance. She also shares her talents with college dance programs. Her students have graced the stage of Broadway, Las Vegas, Hollywood Films, Hubbard 2, North Carolina School of the Arts and Beyonce.
Cynthia has helped develop Ballet Programs for various dance studios and served on the board of Steel Beam Theatre and WMC Theatre. She has choreographed a myriad of musicals for various professional theatres including Wild Goat for Mark Hollman of Urinetown whom told her that the choreography “was on the mark.” Cynthia’s former students say, “Cindy puts excellent emphasis on correct technique. I owe my solid technique to Cindy. She inspires me.”
This summer, Miss Cindy is teaching Ballet Intensives.
Level I (ages 7-10): June 22-26
Level II (ages 11+): July 20-24
Level III (ages 11+ with pointe experience): August 3-7
