Hair and Makeup

Hair: All of the dancers* will have the same hairstyle. We will be parting the hair down the middle and keeping it in a low bun at the small of the neck. The staff will be going over the hair in all of the classes when it is closer to recital time.

You will need:

• Hairspray or gel
• Comb and brush
• Hair ties
• Hair donut (not required but can make it easier to do hair)
• Hair net and bobby pins

*Express Start classes may have any hairstyle they choose as long as it is pulled off of the dancer’s face.

Make-up: All of the dancers will need to wear make-up to prevent their face from appearing washed out on stage. Base foundation, eye shadow (browns, purples, blue, darker colors), eyeliner to outline the top line, blush and lipstick will be required. Express Start dancers will simply need blush, lip gloss and mascara if so desired.

In order to make this as convenient as possible for all of our studio families, we will be selling hair and make-up kits in the front office starting May 1. All kits will cost $20 and will include a hair net, bobby pins, eye shadow and lipstick.
